Kurus Elavia, who
was recently elevated to CEO of Gateway
Security after starting work there 18
years ago as a security guard has been
named one of the six finalists in the
2006 NJBIZ Executive of the Year competition.
After earning graduate
degrees in Business from Bombay University,
Elavia joined Gateway Security in 1988
as a security guard when it was an $11
million company. He steadily worked
his way up the ranks to CEO providing
and executing the strategic planning
that resulted in growing Gateway Security
to nearly 4,000 employees and $70 million
in revenues.

security matters. He earned his Karate
black belt from Japan and lives in Chester,
NJ with his wife Purba and their daughter
Anushka.
